Don’t be afraid to use colour in your #kitchen

November 8, 2012

Wow! I didn’t realise that it has been so long since I wrote a blog post! There’s really no excuse for that.

I feel so inspired by some of my student’s design work that I felt compelled to write this post about incorporating bright and vibrant colours in your kitchen design.

Colour influences us everyday in many ways. We also tend to have very strong and instant reactions to colour. I think it’s fairly safe to say that most of us have a favourite colour, so don’t be afraid to use it in your home – especially in your kitchen, which is often the ‘heart’ of any home.

Blue is such a great colour choice as it feels so calming and soothing and just about everybody loves blue!

Orange is another great colour choice for a kitchen as research indicates that it often works to stimulate appetite.

Ala Cucine (above) have demonstrated that bright and sunny yellow is another winning colour to use in your kitchen.

Of course, if you’re anything like me and you can’t choose a favourite – why not just include them all!?
